March 9, 2025
The Aliso Viejo Youth Council was honored to host Alison Edwards, CEO of OC Human Relations, for an insightful discussion on leadership, bridging communities, and fostering meaningful dialogue. She shared valuable perspectives on creating inclusive spaces and driving positive change, which deeply resonated with our members. Many attendees expressed how much they learned and how they plan to apply her lessons in their own leadership roles. We are grateful for her time and inspiring words, and we look forward to continuing the conversation on civic engagement!


February 2, 2025
President and CEO of the Orange County World Affairs Council, Jayne Herring, joined our meeting at Soka University, sharing her incredible experiences that led her to the forefront of international relations in the community. She discussed her professional and educational background and highlighted the many impactful events organized by the World Affairs Council. Members had the opportunity to learn from her unique experiences, including her time studying abroad in Japan.
December 8, 2024
This meeting featured Margaret Moodian who shared the experiences that led her to advocacy and the importance of initiatives that unite people. The council also discussed the nonprofits she is involved in like Together We Rise.


November 9, 2024
Our second meeting began by reviewing the nationwide and local elections and their outcomes. Ross shared his strategy of mailing out flyers and how that was received by his opponent and those who endorsed him. We also introduced our latest assignment which encourages members to research President Trump's upcoming policies and how he plans to implement them.
October 13, 2024
Our first meeting consisted of introductions, where each member shared about themselves and their passions within Aliso Viejo. We then explained our different subcommittees and how members can expect to benefit from them this year. Lastly, we got to know our advisor, Ross Chun, who updated us on local news.
